Carpet Atelier
The Four Phases

Every row, the way it has always been made

Carpet Atelier is not tap-to-place. Each row of the carpet is woven through four distinct phases that mirror the hands of a master weaver.

I
Weft, Left to Right
پود · Pud
Open a new row by passing the first weft thread across the bare warp, from the left edge to the right.
II
Knotting
گره · Gereh
Tie each knot onto the warp in your chosen colour, following the pattern above the loom.
III
Compacting
شانه · Shaneh
Beat the freshly tied row down with the wooden hammer so the weave sits dense and even.
IV
Weft, Right to Left
پود · Pud
Return the weft from right to left to close and lock the row — and the carpet rises, one line at a time.
